Houdini Asset Handler

» What can you do with this Houdini Python tool ? «

Generate Houdini Assets (HDA) with thumbnails & copy external files. Define metadata for searching etc. Create versions of your assets and generate variations.

Place assets directly into the SceneViewer or the NetworkViewer. Context-sensitive. Use the PythonViewer states for placing or replacing.

Use local HDRI and HDRI lights, or load some from a free online API library. The API queue lets you add resources directly from ambientCG, Polyhaven and the AMD MaterialX library. Use them instantly with different renderers.

Automatically parses Aixterior and Megascans/FAB assets. Use it with render-ready materials for different renderers. API models from Polyhaven are added via the API Queue. All with render-ready PBR materials for all supported renderers.

Scatter asset sets with custom HDAs. Build piles from the sets using the PhysicPainter, or stack them manually. Move and rotate them in the SceneViewer, switch through the instances, and place them using a variety of options.

Add textures and texture sets as PBR materials/shaders to the SceneViewer/NetworkView. Support for texture sets API (Polyhaven/AmbientCG/AMD MaterialX Library). Create shader presets with rendered thumbnails and organise them into folders.

Generate and place USD files from all kinds of contexts in Solaris. Generate USD files from Megascans, Aixterior and Polyhaven model assets.
